Trust in God’s Power

God must be the source of our strength. On our own, life is too hard. We get tired. We give up. We fail. But when we trust in him, are able to keep going. Our strength is renewed. What we cannot face on our own, we endure because our strength comes from him.

Magical Growing Animals

Christ wants to change us beyond just the surface level; he wants to transform us so deeply that even our patterns of thought are renewed.

God Never Changes

We can trust in God because of his unchanging faithfulness. God was perfect. He is perfect. He will always be perfect. This is why we build our life upon him and his promises.

The Law of the Pendulum

Do we really trust Jesus with everything? Do we trust in him to provide for our future? Do we trust him to protect us when we take risks on his behalf? When the rubber meets the road, do we trust him more than our fears?

Shifting Shadows – God’s Faithfulness

The oceans move with the tides. Mountains are worn down by erosion. Even the stars will eventually burn out. But God remains the same. We can always count on him.

God Knows – ESP Cards

Our brains can only process so much information and remember so many facts. God’s wisdom is limitless. He knows and understands the things we can’t even see.

In the Balance

God’s goodness and strength is bigger than our weaknesses and failures.

More Power

God has enough power to raise Jesus from dead; surely he has enough power for whatever task lies in front of us.

Stuck Together

No matter how powerful our opponent, God’s love is stronger. No matter how tall the obstacle, God’s love is higher. There is nothing that can separate us from the love we have received in Christ Jesus.

Untwisted

We help lead people to Jesus so he can “untwist” their lives, and we look forward to the day when everything will be made whole again.

Made Clean

What Jesus does physically and ceremonially for the leper, he can for us spiritually. He is more than willing to make us clean in God’s eyes.

Sandcastles and the Hope of Heaven

We should learn to live our lives the way we build sand castles. We should put in our work and do our best, but we should live with the knowledge that this all temporary.

Monopoly Money and Idols

Humans are hardwired to worship something. We are designed to recognize something that is greater than ourselves, and honor that something. In the process, we hope this something (whatever we worship) will be able to make our lives better. We believe it will protect us, satisfy us, and watch over us. The problem arises when we start worshipping something other than God.

A Merciful Bedtime Story – Despicable Me

Each of person has broken their relationship with God through sin, but the Gospel promises forgiveness, mercy, adoption, and grace to everyone who comes with a repentant heart.

Puny God – The Avengers

Jeremiah’s God is living and active. He created the universe and controls the weather. There is evidence of his power all around us. On the other hand, the idols are made out of gold, have no breath, and no power. They are puny gods.

Poured Out – Immeasurable Grace

Other people do give up on us when we mess up too much, but not God. His grace is immeasurable. His love surpasses understanding. He never runs out of blessing.

Not So Permanent

The Bible repeatedly tells us God has a plan to deal with our sin. Through his grace and the blood of Jesus, our sin can be removed. Guilt and shame can be taken away.
